By actively participating in this one-day workshop, Boy Scouts can earn the Railroading Merit Badge. During the workshop, Scouts will rotate through a series of six subject stations, each exploring a different aspect of railroading. Scouts will learn about locomotives and power, train safety, model railroading, signaling, freight trains and what they carry and how to plan a train trip.
Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts are welcome to participate, however they cannot earn the Railroading Merit Badge. On March 9, 2013 we will offer a new railroad-related course specifically for Girl Scouts. The new program is Mrs. Low's Great Railroad Journey. To register, please contact the Girl Scouts of Northwestern Great Lakes (www.gsnwgl.org).
Upcoming merit badge clinics are scheduled for November 3, 2012, November 2, 2013, November 1, 2014, November 7, 2015 and November 5, 2016.
