Temporary Exhibits
Photographs from the Museum's Collection
The Museum holds over 15,000 photo images in its collections. During 2008, a select group from this collection will be on exhibit in the Bauer Drumhead Gallery. This new exhibit, the third in an ongoing series of railroad art projects, will feature black and white images that open a window into America's railroad heritage. The photographs will stress the dramatic human aspect of U.S. railroads.
"The railroads and their imagery are woven into the fabric of our nation," commented Chuck Schuetz, Museum curator. "The photographs selected for this exhibit illustrate our interaction with trains in different geographic regions, seasons and eras. They tell the story of our relationship with an industry that surpassed the boundary of being a corporate entity and became a vital part of everyday life in a growing America"
Photographs from the Museum's Collection is included in regular Museum admission and will be open from January through December 2008.
